Did anything unusual happen the day that you hit the jackpot?
It was the Melbourne Cup race day and for the first time, I didn't back a horse, so it was just a normal day at work.

What did you do when you realized you'd hit the jackpot?
I jumped up out of my seat and stood there staring at the screen. I then had to walk around the house to calm myself down as my heart was racing. I then came back and looked at the screen again and, yep, it was still there. I then immediately rang a girlfriend who also gambles and told her the good news - she couldn't believe it either.

How will you spend your winnings?

What piece of advice has most helped you through life?
I think there are probably two. I'm a firm believe in "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Treat people well, and they will (generally) treat you well back. Also, don't ask questions if you don't want to hear the answer. It's easy, particularly in a relationship, to ask a question because you want to hear a certain answer - you risk hearing something else if you ask, so be prepared for that and don't get angry if they don't tell you what you want to hear, or don't ask the question.

What is your dream holiday destination?
A fancy resort with everything at my fingertips, a spa in my room, luxurious surroundings and a fancy casino right next door (like Monte Carlo), although I think I would prefer cold weather so I can have a log fire too.

What do you do in your spare time?
Play computer games, read fantasy novels, a little creative writing and play the slots either at a club or casino or online.

What is your ultimate goal in life?
To be happy, healthy and financially comfortable in my old age. I don't want to have to rely on anyone for anything.

If you were stranded on a deserted island what 3 things would you take with you and why?
As many books as I could carry, as I love my fantasy and escaping into other peoples' worlds, a case of red wine to enjoy the balmy evenings and a machete so I could cut down trees and plants in the hope of finding food (assuming there isn't any provided of course).

Is there anything else you would like to tell us about yourself?
I am 45, single, about to move interstate after having just split with my boyfriend of 6 years. I have only one brother living (one dead) who is married with 4 kids and lives intersate, my father is re-married and also lives interstate and my mother is recently widowed and also lives interstate. They all live in the same state, but unfortunately, it's not the one I'm moving to. This money is going to be my nest egg as I don't own my own house and have been living from pay day to pay day for many years. I will spoil myself a bit, but the rest will be invested to help my future - something I never dreamed would be possible. This jackpot is quite literally life changing for me.
